I applied for apartment manager jobs after I got retrenched recently, and am blessed that I got it.

My parents both worked in apartment management jobs, and they wanted to recruit me at an early age. My father was an apartment manager in a small complex that we lived in. My mother did a lot of the maintenance house works around the area, and she needed an assistant manager. This meant that there was always work around if I wanted to earn a little money. I did not want to as I wanted to work in the automobile field. With this crazy economic and retrenchment, I applied to work as apartment manager with my parents. I was put into quick training. I could mow the lawn, help renovate old apartments, sort through old abandoned property – all the standard stuff involved in working in an apartment building.

It is sad to get retrenched. But hey, things happen for a reason. While it was tough at the begining because I suddenly loss that comfort zone, I now felt that it is kind of blessed. If not for the retrenchment, I would not have dare jump into apartment maintenance jobs and realise that I like it.

Apartment maintenance jobs aren't the most lucrative or glamorous of real estate jobs, but they do have their advantages. If you want to be a real estate broker, you have to be very competitive (certianly not that fun at such a time). You have to be able to make the sale time and time again, and that can be exhausting. With an apartment job, by comparison, you are virtually guaranteed perpetual job security. Do you know that apartment jobs tend to come with room and board as an added perk, as well as a steady paychec?. Even if the economy tanks and the landlord has trouble finding new tenants, you will still have a job. Every apartment needs a caretaker always, after all.

For me the very greatest thing about working in an apartment management job is getting to work with people one-on-one. With jobs in the apartments, you really are part of the community. You are the first line of defense when something goes wrong. If there is a suspicious prowler on the loose, people come to you. If they can't get in in the middle of the night or if something breaks in their apartment they come to you. Although it can be hassle from time to time, it feels good to be appreciated. Working in apartments lets you feel like the center of a community.

Of course apartment jobs do have their downsides too. There is a fair bit of paperwork, and when the tenant isn't paying rent or is vacating their room, you are the first person who has to deal with the issue. Nonetheless, if you get along well with the apartment owner you can be virtually guaranteed to have an enjoyable career running the operation. You can make pretty good money year after year, and always guarantee a place to stay. All in all, it is not a bad life for someone who craves stability in such dire economic situation.

Is there anything that you can get rid of in exchange for a profit? Having a yard sale may not bring in lots of money but it will bring in some. Also, it is a great way to do some house cleaning as well. Take some time to look at what is selling on ebay currently. Is there anything that you currently have and can sell on ebay for some quick money too? You might have some items that have more value than what you realize.

Even pawn shops, if you’re really in need of fast cash, are willing to buy some of the most eccentric of items. If you’re willing to perform some odd jobs, you can make some nice money by mowing lawns and doing some yard maintenance for others. If it is the holiday season, some people will pay you to help them with their outdoor decorating and such. Older homeowners will be more than happy to pay for your assistance. Open your eyes and look around. There is always something that can be done for others that will allow you to make money fast and free. It may not always be pleasant, but it surely beats falling for a scam and getting poorer as a result.

Will you like to earn extra income with article submission? There are many places to look at. Some want to work in journalism, and others may want to write a book. Some like to write online, and though many will say that this is not a good way to make income. You may not be rich from it, but you can earn a decent living if you know what you are doing and where to look at. There are many sites out there that offer you the opportunity to submit your article, but you do have to read the fine print before you sign up and give up your full time job.

There are some that allow you to submit your article, and they will pay you for it if they like it and think they have a use for it. Make sure you know what the pay scale might be and if you can live with that price. There are some that offer you a cut of advertising dollars when you submit your article, but they don’t pay you anything upfront. This type of site usually does not pay off for you. You may earn very little money for your trouble. Unless you have hundreds of articles up and you know how to promote them, you won’t get very far using this method.

There are some that allow you to submit your article and put a price on it for someone who may wish to purchase it. This is where you really have to do your research in detail. You have to decide if you want to sell it once for exclusive rights or if you want to sell it at a lower price for non exclusive use by many sites. You should find out what articles like yours go for. If you price is too high, no one will buy. If you go too low, you will be taken advantage of by the buyer. Spend some times reading the ins and outs of such sites before you take the plunge into it.

When you submit your article for money, be sure you know what rights you have and what rights you are giving up. Some sites will give you a choice if you want to retain rights to your work or if you don’t mind giving them up completely for a bit more money. Often, it might come down to how much the article means to you or if you think you want to use it again. You can find places online that advertise that you can submit your article for consideration, but be sure it’s a reputable and proper site. Never give anything away for free unless it is to promote another venture of yours.
